Aaand we're back! Today I'm letting others randomly talk about languages, just because I've watched this recently and couldn't get it out of my head. I do love the things those two do with language! I'm actually writing this lying on the floor and holding my stomach from all the laughter. Enjoy!

I'll be back with my own random language stuff shortly!

Fry & Laurie are so brilliant together! I have a DVD of the show, but I don't know if it's one season or the complete set of all four.

Have you seen their Wooster & Jeeves? Mindnumbingly funny. Made around the time of Black Adder.

No, it isn't.  Fanfic is fiction written by fans, it frequently involves pairing people together in romantic relationships that may or may not be sexual, but not always.  It goes back to the Man From UNCLE and Wild Wild West and Star Trek.  Frequently it's just What If? stories.  With AO3, they'll usually post whether it's sexual or not, and sometimes it's nothing more explicit than sidelong wistful glances.

My wife writes very high quality fanfic and it varies widely as to how explicit the relationship and sexuality is, some of it can be quite pornographic, some of it there's no sex at all.  It all depends on how she's interpreting the relationship at the moment.  And obviously the quality varies from writer to writer, I've encountered some where the grammar was so poor that I've had to abandon stories entirely, which was a shame because some of the ideas were quite good.  Clearly they didn't have a quality beta reader or editor.  One of the more interesting stories that I recently read involved Simon Pegg's character in Hot Fuzz and Mission Impossible - it made him the same person!  Quite clever.  I don't like the M:I movies, but I loved the story since Hot Fuzz is one of my favs and I rewatch it almost annually.  In fact, speaking of fandoms, there's a Doc Martin/Sherlock crossover that was quite amusing.  Sadly, there are no Pie In The Sky fanfics, though my wife and I might attack that some time, it's something that we've discussed.

No worries.  It doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, no explanation required.
