two memes

Today, contrary to what I have been doing aehm... forever, I am going to do the things I want to do and allow myself in between to also do some of the things I should do. And the first thing I want to do is write something meaningless here. How fortunate that there are two memes that I feel like doing!

While I was gone, [personal profile] smallhobbit has been participating in the "three words meme", aaaand... I'm not sure I got the hang of it, but I asked for three words myself and here's what I came up with.

Forests
I've always loved them. When my brother and I were little, our family would always go for summer holidays somewhere, where there were forests. We would walk around, gather mushrooms and sometimes wild berries, if we'd be lucky enough to find some. My father would find a stick and use it as a cane. And then we'd sit down for a break, eat some preserves and have soup out of huge thermoses, and we'd have tea and... cookies? I'm not sure. And my father would cut some pattern on his cane. (this last sentence required lots of thinking: is "cut" the correct verb to be used? or should it be "carve"? did he cut the pattern on the cane or in it? or... something completely different? HELP is always appreciated!) And then we would pack everything up and go on... And I'd run around and feel happy. Especially, when we'd go downhill and back to where we'd be staying. Even though in the evening we'd have to clean (and clean, and clean) the mushrooms, which I hated. Still. Forests belong to my favorite places on earth. I could write much more about forests.

Yellow
Well... the first thing I thought of was my yellow pullover: I've had it for over twenty years, it's bright yellow like the brightest little chick you ever saw and even a little brighter. I loved it over twenty years ago and I love it still. Despite the fact that people seem to laugh at me when I wear it, especially a very close friend from Duesseldorf, who remembers it and laughs about me having it, even though she herself hasn't seen it in over ten years. Also, I just remembered that I used to have a bright yellow hoodie as a child. Did I love it! Where ever did it go? Besides clothing, the only yellow I can think of is a field of flowers seen from afar. We were wandering in some mountains and saw such fields - huge and unbelievably yellow. I was very impressed.

Microscope
Weeell... almost nothing to say here. Only, in school, when we first learned to use one, each of us had to try and find the correct setting to see some microorganisms... and I managed that and was sooo proud of myself... I don't think that I ever used a microscope since. (no, I probably did in school again, but I don't remember anything about that)

Thanks for reading!
Should you want your own three words, let me know, should you want to give me another set, go right ahead!

Lots of questions, some of them completely irrelevant, but so what, I'm practicing my English ;)

What's going on between you and the last person you kissed?
- I love that person!

Would you get back with your last ex if they asked you?
- So many answers))) But, no, are you kidding me?

What friend do you tell the most to?
- Jinn, I only mentioned her once in this journal, but lots of these questions will need to be answered with her name, so... even though you don't know my name, there, you now know hers :D

You're walking down the street with your love, where are you going?
- We're walking around our neighborhood, we haven't done that in a while, we need to see what's changed and say, again, "what a nice place we live in!"

What's something you really want right now, be honest?
- I really want my stomach to feel better. Honestly. I mean, I thought about fooling you people and saying that I want to sleep with my neighbor, to make it more interesting, but no. It's the stomach.

Three feelings at the moment?
- Bloated, thirsty, hot. (not very appealing...)

Last time you had butterflies in your stomach?
Oh, don't talk to me about stomachs... I've no idea, actually.

Does anything hurt on your body?
- No, it doesn't hurt, it's huge and full of air, and it almost makes me despair, but it doesn't hurt right now.

Who was the last person to disappoint you?
- I'm not sure a person can do that to me. For the life of me I cannot imagine a person disappointing me. I think, I'm way to understanding for that.

Do you still talk to that person?
- Let's see, since no one disappointed me, the question is, whether I still (ha!) talk to no one. And the answer is, yes! I do! No one is sitting right next to me and I talk to it non-stop.

Who was the last person you had a deep conversation with?
- Jinn! (see!) She came to visit me a week ago.

What are you listening to right now?
- The faint sound coming from the AC, ticking of the clock, bubbles in my glass.

Have you ever punched a hole in the wall?
- When I was reading kat-liar's answers, I unthinkingly answered "no, but someone did it because of me", but then I thought about it, and I've no idea what I meant. But there's a memory of an almost-hole in a wall inside my mind. No idea, how it got there.

Do you know someone in jail?
- No, I don't.

Where were you at 2:00 this morning?
- At home, reading Middlemarch before sleep.

Where's the weirdest place you've changed clothes?
- I don't know what's considered weird, but I've taken to changing clothes in airport toilets and I always feel strange when I do that. On the one hand, it takes time, and there often are lines, on the other, I feel like it's forbidden and I might be caught. Stupid, I know.

Do you wear glasses?
- Yes. Often two at the same time ;)

Who do you love?
- people: husband, family, friends, other people, too; animals: at the moment, no concrete ones, but, you know... I do love animals :D

What's the cd in your player?
- Don't have either. Which doesn't mean that I don't love music, though. I do. Queen, A Night at The Opera, is what is playing in my head currently.

Anything annoying you right now?
- Yes, my bloated stomach.

Anybody you're looking forward to seeing soon?
- Yes, my friend N on Wednesday!

Is there a friend particularly that you miss?
- Yes, G, my Serbian friend, who I was very close with, when we both lived in Germany, who lives in Slovenia now or... she might have moved back home? I've no idea. And this makes me miss her more.

What will you be doing in a half hour?
- Half hour after I finish this? I might allow myself to work a little. Or, I might be cleaning up my phone. It's high time.

What is your underwear colour?
- Black with tiny pink flowers.

Anywhere you'd rather be right now?
- Hm... no, everything is as it should be.

Are you going anywhere for the next summer?
- It's middle of August: is it still summer? Well, yes, especially since I am going somewhere very soon and I've no idea about the _next_ summer. I'm going to Mexico! And to Guatemala! And to Mexico again! In ten days, for over a month.

Do you have plans today?
- Yes, doing things I want to, maybe allowing myself to do things I should, and not feeling bad about it.

Are you waiting for anyone's call right now?
- No.

Who was the last person you rolled your eyes at?
- I don't really know... probably a woman in the swimming pool changing area, who had no notion of personal space and decided to change, like, ten centimeters from where I was changing, despite the fact that there was lots of space.

Who was the last person to put their arm around you?
- Jinn! (told you)

What are your plans for tomorrow?
- Oh, tomorrow I'll do things I should! PhD, mainly.

Where is your mobile phone?
- Next to where I am, on my table.

Do you feel comfortable with answering personal questions?
- Yes, mostly.

Have you ever passed out?
- Nearly, a few times. Low blood pressure.

Where's the person you miss most?
- In Germany. (So what, right? Did this answer anything? How about, who's the person you miss most? The person I miss most is my brother. Not because I love him more than, say, my husband, daughter or Jinn, but because I barely saw him in the last ten years, and barely talked to him.)

Do you have a best friend?
- Yeah. My husband, daughter, brother and Jinn.

Have you ever broken someone's heart?
- Yes. But it should be mended by now.

Do you love someone that doesn't know this?
- I might. I'm very warmhearted, I don't think my students realize that I love them, for instance.

Do you chew with your mouth open or closed?
- Really, what kind of a question is that?))) Does spittle drip from the corner of your mouth when you sleep?

Do you normally say "cute" or "hot"?
- Only in the sense of "I'm feeling hot" (and I am!) ooor... "caution hot plate!" or "I'm sick of hot weather" or

Do you give out second chances?
- Absolutely.

Have you ever liked someone that treated you bad?
- Well... up until I realized that it was so, yes.

Three words to explain why you last threw up?
- Caught stomach bug.

Name one person that made you smile last night?
- If it has to be last night and not, say, day, then it'll have to be Mrs Maisel.

What were you doing 45 minutes ago?
- I think I've been writing this post. It takes forever...

What is your favourite candy bar?
- Don't have one... I love Lindor, though. Does that count?

Have you ever been to a strip club?
- No.

What is the last thing you said aloud?
- "No", when I was writing the last answer.

What was the last thing you had to drink?
- Soda water.

What are you wearing right now?
- Underpants and a spaghetti strap top.

What was the last thing you ate?
- An apple.

Have you bought any new items this week?
- Groceries.

When was the last time you ran?
- Just over a month ago, we were running to catch the airport shuttle in Bangkok.

Do you take vitamins daily?
- Yes, iron (kill me, kill me now), vitamin C and magnesium.

Do you go to church every Sunday?
- I never go to church, I'm not a Christian.

Do you like Chinese food over pizza?
- I think I do. Though it does depend on the country I'm eating in. Chinese food in Germany or India is wonderful, but, say, in Israel, it's blah with way too much sweet stuff in it. Chinese food in China is so varied that I'd have trouble answering whether or not I liked Chinese food at all.

Do you drink your soda with a straw?
- No. Only my Mohito. Which I almost never drink.

Do you like beer in a can or a bottle?
- In a can for transportation, in a bottle to drink out of.

Where is your mom?
- She must be in heaven. I think she did believe in it.

Look to your right, what do you see?
- My desk with lots of stuff on it: books, pieces of paper, keyboard, grapes, glass of water, phone, etc. A lamp, book shelves, pictures I've colored, chair, wind chimes, suitcase waiting to be packed, pictures drawn by our daughter.

What colour is your watch?
- Silver and black, but I only wear it to work.

Do you have a dog?
- No, we travel way to much. But we do love dogs!

Last guy you talked on the phone with?
- Husband.

Last girl you talked on the phone with?
- Grandma.

Do you dye your hair?
- Yes! And It's high time to do it again.

Biggest annoyance in your life right now?
- Stomach!

Can you say the alphabet backwards?
- It would take almost as long as to answer these questions.

Do you have a maid service clean your house?
- Nope.

Are you jealous of anyone?
- I don't think so. One of the main things I believe in, is that everything is happening the way it should, so... I don't see how I could be jealous... Wait, no. I AM jealous of people, who live in worlds where magic exists! And of those, who live in worlds where there are people on other planets and stuff. Yeah.

Do you shower?
- No, I live inside my own dirt. Sorry))) Really. Do you eat?

Do you like cats?
- Very much.

How did you get your worst scar?
- This really is not very appetizing, don't read if you're sensitive!

Well, there was a kind of a lump on my shin and our daughter and I were planting carrots on the balcony, and while climbing over the railing I hit that lump and it got inflamed, so now there's a hole, where the lump used to be.

If you read to the end, you're a hero!

Thank you for the answers to my three words. I'm glad you like forests and am particularly pleased about your yellow pullover - I think yellow's such a cheerful colour.
