fun with languages
Jan. 15th, 2020 11:40 amI've entered with some of my languages (the ones I'm prepared to play with at the moment).
No idea how diverse this will be, but it's an interesting way to see how interested and well versed in languages the DW community is. Since languages are the main passion of my life, I'll of course be happy to see as many people participating as possible.

One morning, I stopped at a 7-eleven on the way into work, to get myself a gigantic slurpy drink of Mountain Dew. On the way out, a young fellow in a pair of overalls greeted me distractedly with "Hello, mijo" as he walked in. Of course, this is quite endearing, mijo meaning my little one, but I told a Mexican colleague at work about it and she giggled when I pretended to be affronted and considered it a bit dashed familiar. I mean, it's better than being greeted with "Get out of the way, bollock breath," eh?
