Christmas!
Nov. 29th, 2018 08:15 pmI live in a country where Christmas is celebrated by a small minority. It means, December 25th is a holiday in some places (at my place of work, for instance), but it's not like you have lights, Christmas markets, gingerbread and other paraphernalia that help you feel Christmas. You have to go looking for them. And many (like gingerbread) you can not find anywhere that I'm aware of.
And it frankly is not that I'm religious, but Christmas is a tradition that has been alive in our family for a long time, and I do like it.
Soooo, guess what: I just talked to
eller and she offered to send me something Christmas-y, and I thought, we should exchange something, then. And now I think: why not try and make myself a Christmas this year, even though I won't be able to go to visit my family in Europe?
So, this is an offer of some kind of a pre-Christmas surprise gift exchange (or post-Christmas, of course, depending on the post) - nothing fancy or expensive, just some atmosphere, some feeling of warmth and being-thought-about... Everyone is invited to participate! Even if I don't know you yet :) We exchange addresses in private messages and let ourselves be surprised... Hm? How about it?

I already know what I'll send, but it will not happen before Sunday. Still, I hope it won't take too long to reach you...

Date: 2018-12-06 12:13 pm (UTC)When we did this with Eller, we also exchanged some ideas about what we like or would like to get. Which in my case is very simple: something Christmas-y! (She added that she liked tea, stationary and paper) There are no musts, of course.
Anyhow, feel free to write something like that... and if you don't, well, I'll just have to think of something, then.
Sending you my address and waiting for yours!
