a perfect morning
Dec. 1st, 2018 02:26 pmThis morning, I was woken up by my cat kneading my head on the pillow - it was sweet and darling when he did it as a baby, but as a nine-year-old, it's plain painful - he then proceeded to crawl under the blanket and lay down, repeating the contours of my stomach and chest with his spine and purring, thus totally making up for the scratches on my scalp.
When I next woke up I heard rain. I love rain. After listening to it for some time, I went into the bathroom, opened the window and stood there, looking, smelling, thinking: yes. thank you. please stay like this.
And then I came into the living room and heard Christmas music and laughter coming from our daughter's part of the house.
Well, I don't know what can be better. Grandma's cookies, maybe. Or the squirrel stories my mother used to tell me, when I couldn't sleep. Anyhow. This morning is next in line.
Thank you, everything and everyone. Wishing perfect mornings to you, too.

Date: 2019-01-21 06:06 pm (UTC)Here's a post with photos of all three dogs, and here's the first one that I've caught all three on the bed with my wife. My wife is allergic to cats and dogs, but she can handle dogs that don't shed, so poodles are a great choice. And she'll tolerate Rupert because (A) he's a wonderful boy, and (B) he has a terribly tragic back story. All three are good boys.
