three things post
Sep. 9th, 2021 12:51 pmI hope this heat is over soon. Then I might stop having a cold all the time XD Seriously, it's so hot that you have to turn on the AC at least from time to time or you just have to be in AC-ied rooms where ever you go, and I only need to spend a few minutes in an AC-ied room to get a cold. Or I get it at night. The windows are open, some time around 4 or 5 it finally gets nice and a bit of wind blows into the room and boom! I'm sick for another day and a half. I now sleep with a scarf around my neck and ears and sweat like hell. Oh, I do hope fall will come eventually.
I'm having to do a driving theory course, which is something everyone over here has to do when they've had their license for 5-6 years. Like, after 5-6 years you've suddenly forgotten all the theory and need a revision. It's a 2 x 4,5 hours frontal course. I've done my first 4,5, the second is today. I can't tell you how much I'm suffering just thinking about this time. Nine hours of my life! For nothing. I went over the brochure they gave us - there's barely anything I wouldn't have answered correctly without preparation. Oh, yeah, there's a test at the end of the second day. And if you fail, you have to do this all over again. And it's happening inside a school building. The ACs are old and blow with a steady force directly into your body. Sigh.
We're hoping to go to Prague. It's one of my favorite places on earth, and it's nearly ten years since I've been there last. I hope, I hope, I hope. Let's see. It's all about them letting us in, us being able to get away and acceptable tickets being available. By the end of next week we'll either be there or we're staying put. I'll keep you updated.

Date: 2021-09-09 02:58 pm (UTC)We were there six years ago and I was amazed to find it, unfortunately we had just finished eating lunch. The menu looked quite authentic and they had Prickly Pear Salad, which is made from cactus and is a very unusual dish. We're hoping they survived the pandemic.
It's approximately in front of the Black Angus Bar.

Date: 2021-09-10 08:58 pm (UTC)Will you accept brain fail? I completely didn’t even try. That must be the one, interesting that they have multiple locations in Praha, we saw just the one, but saw only a limited part of the city. Definitely have to check them out if we get back there. Thank you! (I’m in a somewhat addled state right now)
