look at my hat!
Nov. 1st, 2021 01:42 pmI feel tired and not up for posting anything, but I have a new icon and need to share it with the world!
I used to have just such a hat - I inadvertently won it for my Halloween costume at an Irish pub many-many years ago. It was the second price. First price was a bottle of bubbly. Who would choose a bottle over a hat?! I was so happy I didn't win the first price! Also, it's not that _I_ should have won anything, I didn't even know there would be prices, and my "costume" was - apart from the black pants and a see-through black shirt - a black drawing made on my face with eyeliner by my then-boyfriend. If anyone, he should have gotten the price. Still. I got the hat and loved it, and it moved around with me for years before I lost it somehow. I've no idea, how. So, I'm regarding this new icon as the reincarnation of my hat. And look at the leaves! I love it!
Thanks to
kat_lair for bringing it back to me!

Date: 2021-11-01 02:47 pm (UTC)In my younger days when I could wear contacts, I was at a convention and wore a costume. I pulled a piece of black cloth over my head so you couldn't see facial features, was wearing a long-sleeved black pullover shirt, a grim reaper-type Halloween costume (it was kinda nice, but not extraordinary), and wearing gloves that had plastic skeleton bones on them. And I walked around very, very slowly.
I won a hall costume prize, which was a plastic cup with a bone motif and spiders on it. So I carried it around like a chalice. It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of second looks since people couldn't see my face.
