internet knows everything, right?
Dec. 20th, 2018 02:10 pmDear internet*,
I'm looking for a painting. All I know about it is this:
it's by a European artist, painted not later than 1974. On it are "thousands of dead birds lying on the ground and above them a horse is falling from the sky".
Should you have an idea what painting this might be, I'd be happy if you told me.
Thank you!

Date: 2019-01-21 06:21 pm (UTC)Over here there is a trend among conservatives to question the value of libraries, thinking that you can find anything you need on the internet. That's not really true: the internet indexes a huge number of things, but not everything, and few people know how to search it well and critically. Plus, people don't understand how libraries provide many services to the poor and underserved, another case of what I describe as "I've got mine, screw you."
