I really like rain

It's raining. It has actually been raining a lot this winter, so much I even got tired of it. I love rain. And we never have enough of it in this country. Still there has been a l o t o f r a i n this winter and the few days of sunshine we had just now were a blessing. We were so happy. I mean, the hand towel got finally dry for a day or two. It was great. And now, in the middle of the night, it is raining. Again. And I'm sitting in the kitchen/living room and listening to the rain drumming on the roof and the chimney, and the only thing I can think is - OMG, this is so great! Why do we still not have some kind of a shelter outside, where I can sit and smell the rain? On the other hand, how great is it that the only thing that feel the lack of right now is a place for me out in the rain?

I love the sound of rain as well, and the smell of it. It's the only thing that lures me to sit out in the summer heat.

Oh, summer rains are something different completely! But just as great nonetheless :D

I like rain at night as I fond it relaxing. But I have a Brit 's relationship with rain the rest of the time.

Ah, right, sure :) Well, you know it so well, it's like a family member of whom you know everything. You are entitled to complain about it!

Normally I love the sound of rain, with two exceptions. First, it freaks our hound. Don't know why. Second, it also stresses my wife, because seven years ago we had a bad storm and lightning struck a tree behind us, sending a 25' chunk of pine through our roof, coming within actual inches of killing her.

So I like rain, with caveats.

Fortunately we've had a wet winter, between both snow and rain, so we should have a low level fire season this summer. THAT will be good.
